My Plex Project is forever going. My Media Aggregation Stack controlls media ingest, prep, and moving. My Plex server runs on windows server 2022 and uses 1x 300TB SMB share to hold all data. This SMB share is mounted to my media aggregation stack docker containers so it can be automatically added to. There are 2 folders, TV shows, and Movies. I only give access to my plex server to those I love dearly.
Originally, my Plex server was running on a Windows Server 2022 VM on a Dell R730XD. I had some issues, one of my drives from each of my 3 Rad 5 pools died and I was unable to recover the data and I had to restart. I have re-downloaded 100TB of the 300TB original media library and it is still in progress. I have moved my plex server to it's own dedicated machine here are the specifications. The Define r5 case is what I went with due to the smaller size and 8 built in drive bays. I bought a startech triple 3.5" drive adapter that fits in 2x5.25 bays to make it 11 Drives. I needed more space so I had my buddy 3D print a 6Drive drive cage that would utilize the bottom 2 expansion Slot screws and a metal baseplate that fits over the powersupply in the case. This adds 6 total drives with vibration dampning for a total of 17 Drives. These are all running in 3 RAID pools with 1 parity drive each using software RAID. My total Plex Share size in 285TB after RAID.
